Wind Surfing & Kayaking
 

Pugmarks introduced you to the adventure of White Water Rafting and brought Scuba Diving into your realms.

Now get ready for the excitement of Wind Surfing. The coaching camp will be conducted on the river Koyna at Tapola near Mahabaleshwar. You will learn basics of wind surfing and experience the thrill of gliding over the water surface. Professional instructors will ensure that you learn the correct technique and this will pave the way for assimilating more advance skills later. Coaching camp will also provide an opportunity to acquire knowledge of kayaking. You will learn to steer and control kayaks. Indeed you can look forward to a kayaking holiday in Himalayas where white water kayaking is a thrilling experience.

Camp Programme (Summer'11)

Day 1

Depart from Pune and arrive at the riverside camp near Mahabaleshwar.
Briefing over equipment, safety rules and swimming test. Basics of kayaking and wind surfing.
Day 2
to
Day 5

Participants will be divided in two groups and will have alternate sessions of Kayaking and Wind surfing.
Mastering skills of balancing, control and maneuver is achieved through practice. Obviously good physical stamina and perseverance are essential.

Kayaking – The campers will learn to control the speed of and maneuver the kayak. They will also learn through the capsize drill, to come out safely from under the kayak when upturned.

Wind Surfing – The campers will take quite some time to learn to balance on the surfing board. This may test their patience but eventually they will succeed. Maneuvering by wind will come through practice.

In the evening there will be activities like valley crossing, cycling, camp fire which will provide a welcome break.

Day 6 Certification and farewell. Return to Pune with a brief halt at Mahabaleshwar.
