Ranthambore National Park

Ranthambore

The vast open dry deciduous forests here not only make it possible to sight the tiger - but also watch it rest, move, take care of its cubs, stalk or even make a kill in full view. Our campers have been lucky to witness the making of kills on three occasions.  The many historical structures that dot the national park add to the charm of watching the tiger - standing under the chattari, eyeing a group of sambar from behind an ancient wall or just lazing on the fort parapet. Ranthambore is a living story of this King and his Fort.

Campers speak

Suddenly we heard alarm calls of sambar and langur. When we looked around, we saw one leopard passing by. We also tracked the tiger by hearing alarm calls.

Pratyush Nagare, 13 yrs

The breath taking incidents for me were the sights of the leopard, the tigress who was very, very close to our canter and the sight of the magnificent king vulture.
