Kuari Pass Trek
 

Come, walk the path that Viceroys had blazed! In 1905, Lord Curzon reached Kuari pass through Ghat. Since then, this trek is popularly known as the Curzon Trail. Once you reach the top of the pass at 14100 ft, you are rewarded with a view of the majestic peaks of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dronagiri and Hathi- hodi Parvat.

We start this trek from Auli, famous for its ski slopes. One treks through the forest of oak, pine and deodar to reach the famous Bugyals (meadows) of Gorson at an altitude of 9990 ft. From here, one can see the entire range of Nanda Devi sanctuary, along the Rishi Ganga. On the descent, feel rejuvenated by soaking in the famous hot springs of Tapovan.

Camp Programme (Summer'11)

Day 1

Pune campers to report at Congress Bhavan at 0700 hrs sharp for transfer by bus to Bandra Terminus.
Mumbai reporting at 1200 hrs at Bandra Terminus. Depart by AC Garib Rath (12216) at 1255 hrs.
Day 2 Arrive Delhi Cantonment at 1146 Proceed by AC chartered bus to Rishikesh and overnight.
Day 3 Early morning proceed to Auli (2800 M) by sumo (275km/8hrs). Overnight in tents.
Day 4 Acclimatisation trek and adventure activities like rappelling, valley crossing etc at Auli camp.
Day 5 Trek to Gorson Top (6 km). This famous Bugyal (meadow) is at an altitude of 3045M (9990ft).

Day 6 Trek through Rhododendron, Oak and Deodar forest to Chitrakantha (3310 M) – 8km.
Day 7 Trek to Khulara 5 km / 4298 m.
Day 8 Trek to the famous Kuari Pass (4298M/14100 ft) – 9 km. Overnight at camp Khulara.
Day 9 Trek down to Tapovan 12 km and bathe in hot water spring. Drive to Auli for overnight halt.
Day 10 Proceed to Haridwar. Overnight in hotel.
Day 11 Board Janashatabdi 12056 at Haridwar at 0622 hrs. Arr New Delhi 1115 hrs.
Transfer to Nizamuddin to board Garib Rath (12910) at 1540 hrs.
Day 12 Arrive at Bandra Terminus at 0810 hrs. Arrive at Congress Bhavan, Pune at 1300 hrs.
