Kanha National Park
 

Kanha is Kipling country, the backdrop of Rudyard Kipling’s numerous literary endeavors, including the now world famous Jungle Book. Replete with sal and teak forests, the misty meadows of Kanha provide the perfect sighting ground for the park’s ungulates. Kanha is renowned for the resurrection of the hardground swamp deer from the brink of extinction and is the last remaining habitat of this species on the Indian subcontinent. A visit to this national park is a holistic experience…for birding, wildlife, plant species, and of course, its natural beauty.

Camp Programme (Summer'12)

Day 1

Pune reporting at the Main Porch of Pune Railway Station at 0645 hrs. Depart by Pragati Exp (2126) at 0750 hrs to CSTM.
Mumbai reporting at CSTM at 1200 hrs. Proceed to Jabalpur by Garib Rath (12188) at 1330 hrs.
Day 2 Arrive Jabalpur at 0600 hrs and proceed to Bhedaghat by AC bus. Enjoy boating in the canal lined by huge marble rocks. Later proceed to Kanha and check into a Wildlife Resort. Ice breakers and briefing.
Day 3

Morning and evening jungle safari and a visit to interpretation centre. Watch out for Barasingha, wild boar, bear, leopard, wild dog, tiger - - - . Wildlife film in the evening.
Day 4

Enjoy morning and evening jungle safaris.

Day 5 Freak out day. Nature trail, games and fun activities. Treasure hunt and campfire.
Day 6 Depart for Nagpur with packed lunch. Board Garib Rath 12114 for Pune at 1835 hrs.
Day 7 Arrive Pune at 0945 hrs.
