Kanha National Park
 

Kanha is Kipling country, the backdrop of Rudyard Kipling’s numerous literary endeavors, including the now world famous Jungle Book. Replete with sal and teak forests, the misty meadows of Kanha provide the perfect sighting ground for the park’s ungulates. Kanha is renowned for the resurrection of the hardground swamp deer from the brink of extinction and is the last remaining habitat of this species on the Indian subcontinent. A visit to this national park is a holistic experience…for birding, wildlife, plant species, and of course, its natural beauty.

Camp Programme (Summer'10)

Day 1

Pune reporting at the Main Porch of Pune Railway Station at 0645 hrs. Depart from Pune by Pragati Exp (Train No.2126) at 0750hrs and join Mumbai campers at CSTM.
Mumbai reporting at CSTM at 1200 hrs. Proceed to Jabalpur by Garib Rath (2188) at 1330 hrs.
Day 2 Arrive Jabalpur at 0600 hrs and proceed to Kanha by chartered bus (3 hrs.).
Check into a Wildlife Resort. Ice breakers and briefing. Jungle safari in the evening. Follow up the jungle ride with a wildlife film.
Day 3 Morning jungle ride with elephant safari and a visit to interpretation centre. Watch out for Bara singha, wild boar, bear, leopard, wild dog, tiger - - - .
Games and activities in the evening. Treasure hunt and camp fire at night.
Day 4 Enjoy a morning safari in the jungle – indulge in photography, listen to the bird calls and the alarms.
Depart for Jabalpur after lunch. Board Garib Rath at 1930 hrs.
Day 5 Arrive Dadar 1153 hrs and Mumbai CST 1215 hrs.
Arrive at Pune Railway Station at 1840 hrs by Sinhagad Express.
