Corbett National Park
 

Named after the renowned hunter-turned- naturalist, Jim Corbett, this National Park enjoys the distinction of India’s first wildlife reserve. It is a rare privilege to be allowed to stay at Dhikala, with its beautiful terrain and varied landscape - rivers, hills, thick jungle and the Terai region. Apart from abundant bird life, you will even get to see the Ghariyal. Our second stay is on the banks of the river Kosi near Ramnagar. The highlights here include living in clean mud huts, body surfing, rappelling and trekking to Sitabani.

Camp Programme (Summer'10)

Day 1

All campers to report at the main porch of Pune Railway station at 0630 hrs.
Depart from Pune by Sampark Kranti Express (Train No.2629) at 0745 hrs.
Day 2 Arrive Nizamuddin at 925 hrs and transfer to the chartered bus for Ramnagar.
Arrive at campsite around 1800 hrs. Orientation and briefing.
Day 3 Birding trail in the morning. After breakfast enjoy exciting activities like body surfing, river crossing.
Experience the thrill of rappelling in the evening. Campfire at night.
Day 4 In the morning set out on a trek to Sitabani area – wade through the river, take to a forest trail, go birding, swim in river pools. Visit Corbett Museum and Corbett Falls.
Day 5 Early in the morning, proceed to Dhikala camp in Corbett national Park. Safaris will provide the opportunity to watch elephants, barking deer, wild boar, gharial and may be leopard or tiger.
Day 6 During the jungle ride, enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Corbett Park – rivers, grassland, mountains, jungles teeming with wildlife. It could be a memorable day for you.
Day 7 Drive back to Riverside camp. Enjoy biking in the wilderness. Games and activities. After dinner proceed to Delhi.
Day 8 Board Sampark Kranti at Nizamuddin at 0855 hrs.
Day 9 Arrive at Pune Railway Station at 1110 hrs.
